چکیده

A modified Student’s t distribution is suggested for small scale fading statistics in line of sight and non line of sight conditions where the number of scatterers is small, and the central limit theorem does not hold. The new model is superior to the previously suggested POCA distribution, and has the natural characteristic of radial symmetry. The new model was tested against channel response measurements and found to better describe the distribution than the Rice and Nakagami models.

An Analytical Model for the Intercell Interference Power in the Downlink of Wireless Cellular Networks

In this paper, we propose a methodology for estimating the statistics of the intercell interference power in the downlink of a multicellular network. We first establish an analytical expression for the probability law of the interference power when only Rayleigh multipath fading is considered. Next, focusing on a propagation environment where small-scale Rayleigh fading as well as large-scale e...

STATISTICAL MODELING OF SIGNAL AMPLITUDE FADING OF INDOOR RADIO PROPAGATION CHANNELS - Universal Personal Communications, 1993. 'Personal Communications: Gateway to the 21st Century'. C

Small-scale and large-scale variations of signal amplitude for wideband data collected at two office buildings have been investigated. The data base includes 12000 impulse response estimates which were obtained by inverse Fourier transforming of the channel's frequency response profiles. Extensive curve fitting for the distribution of individual multipath components' amplitudes using elaborate ...

Application of Second-order Statistics for an Indoor Radio Channel Model

The secondary statistics for an indoor radio impulse response model in the factory environment are investigated. Under the assumption that multipath signal amplitudes are jointly log-normally distributed over local areas and excess delay, application of second order statistics (correlation) into a statistical model is presented. In addition, the distributions of received power within a particul...

Spatio-temporal ultrawideband indoor propagation modelling by reduced complexity geometric optics

A simple and efficient virtual-source ray-tracing technique for the simulation of indoor wideband radio and optical propagation channels is proposed. The parametric deterministic model considers the room geometry, transceiver locations, material properties and probe signal types. It is applied to the indoor ultrawideband channel in the FCC-allocated 3.1–10.6 GHz band, and a range of novel resul...
